Decorative Finishes

Artificial Rock

With artificial rock there are no unnatural mortar joints to look at.  Properly sealing the cracks between real rock to prevent cracking and leaks associated with settling is a difficult and costly proposition.

Flagstone

Flagstone is a commonly used word regarding thin, fat slabs of stone which are applicable to paving applications such as driveways, patios, pool decks, garden and walkways.

Micro-Topping

Micro-Topping is a multipurpose cementitious topping designed to give the effect of colored hardened concrete with a smooth or textured finish.  A wide array of design possibilities are available to enhance your commercial or residential project.  Enjoy the aesthetic value, easy maintenance (spills wipe-up with a cloth), durability and practicality of artistic concrete surfaces at a fraction of the cost of conventional flooring.

Stain

Its versatility, cost-effectiveness, endurance, and ease of maintenance make it the right choice for many interior and exterior spaces. Rather than covering the slab with color, it creates a chemical reaction that transforms the color of the concrete itself.  It doesn’t cover up the imperfections in the slab, it accentuates them.

Stamp

Stamped concrete is the process of adding texture to concrete to make it resemble natural stone, brick, slate and other natural products.  Special stamping tools are pressed into the concrete to create a pattern and may be stained for added aesthetics.

Common Concrete Finishes

Broom

A broom finish is made by pulling special brooms across a stiff, freshly floated or troweled surface. For variety, broom texture can be heavy or light.

Exposed Aggregate

An exposed aggregate surface is created by using an acid wash to the surface of a concrete slab to eat away the cement film at the surface and expose the faces of pebbles (decorative pebbles may be used) that were used in the concrete batch.

Salt

Rock salt is pressed into the fresh concrete surface.  After 24 hours, the salt is washed away with water and a brush.
